1. Pricing and Payments

GST

All prices listed on the website are exclusive of GST. Goods and Services Tax (GST) will be calculated and added to the total amount at the final checkout stage.

Pricing Errors

We reserve the right to cancel any order and provide a full refund in the event of a technical glitch, "pricing bug," or obvious clerical error. An order confirmation does not constitute a binding contract if the price listed was clearly erroneous.

2. The Bespoke Deposit & Labor Policy

The Model

To initiate a custom project, the client must purchase a loose sapphire. This purchase serves as the project deposit. If you already have a stone and need just craftsmanship, please contact us directly — work begins after a paid invoice.

Labor Non-Refundability

We allow for the return of a completed custom piece if the client is unsatisfied; however, Labor and Handling costs are strictly non-refundable.

The Calculation

In the event of a return on a completed custom ring, the refund amount will be calculated as: (Total Price Paid) minus (Current Labor, Design, and Handling Fees). By commissioning a custom piece, the client agrees that Stoney's craftsmanship time is a consumed service and cannot be credited back.

Final Invoicing

Once the custom piece is completed and the final design is accepted by the client, a separate invoice for the craftsmanship, metal, and additional stones will be issued. Work will not be dispatched until the final invoice is paid in full.

3. Shipping, Risk, and Delivery

Ownership of Risk

Australia Sapphire retains all risk for the goods (including loss or damage) until the item is successfully delivered to the customer's specified address.

Dispatch vs. Delivery

We take full responsibility for the timely dispatch and secure packaging of your order. However, we are not liable for delays, errors, or strikes caused by third-party delivery companies or courier services.

Force Majeure

Lead times are estimates only. Australia Sapphire is not responsible for delays caused by external global factors, including but not limited to fuel shortages, natural disasters, or supply chain disruptions.

4. 60-Day Stone Viewing Policy

We offer a unique 60-day viewing period for loose sapphires to ensure complete satisfaction.

Payment

The stone must be paid for in full prior to dispatch.

Return Shipping

To return the stone within the 60-day window, the customer is solely responsible for the cost of fully insured, trackable return shipping.

Condition

Stones must be returned in their original, unset, and undamaged condition. If a stone has been tampered with or damaged, the return will be rejected.

5. Return & Refund Policy

Under Australian Consumer Law, you are entitled to a remedy if a product has a "major failure." Beyond these statutory rights, our policy is as follows:

Ready-to-Wear & Custom

We do not offer returns or refunds for "change of mind" on Ready-to-Wear or Custom Bespoke items. We go to great lengths to provide high-definition video and macro photography of every stone before dispatch.

Subjective vs. Objective

We do not accept "bad angles" or "lighting differences" as valid proof of a discrepancy.

The Standard

A discrepancy claim is only valid if there is a measurable, objective difference between the product received and the technical specifications provided (e.g., carat weight, millimetre dimensions, or specific internal inclusions documented in the original report).

Professional Verification

Any claim of "Product not as promised" must be accompanied by an independent assessment from a certified Gemological Laboratory or a registered Valuer. We reserve the right to have the item inspected by our own master cutter (Stoney) upon return to verify its identity before any funds are released.

6. Lifetime Craftsmanship Warranty

The Setting

We provide a lifetime warranty on the setting (metalwork) against manufacturing defects. This does not cover general wear and tear (e.g., thinning of the band over years of use).

The Stone

This warranty does not cover the sapphire or accent stones. We are not liable for stone loss, accidental damage by the customer (e.g., impact damage), or chips/scratches incurred after delivery. We strongly recommend private jewellery insurance for your stone.

7. Intellectual Property

Australia Sapphire owns all original photography, AI-generated assets in the Vision Studio, and custom design renders. Educational content may contain third-party images used for illustrative purposes under fair-use principles; however, the overall compilation and brand assets remain the property of Gemestonia.
