The Echo Earring

The Echo Earring is an exercise in suspension. Instead of a standard round cut, Stoney selected a sharp, square princess-cut sapphire and rotated it into a kite orientation. This subtle shift in geometry completely changes how light enters the pavilion, creating sharp, linear flashes rather than circular scintillation.

To maximize the movement and drama of the kite setting, the sapphire is suspended from a single, brilliant-cut diamond accent. The entire assembly drops elegantly from a fine French hook mechanism, allowing the earring to articulate freely with every movement of the head.

The space between the earlobe, the diamond, and the sapphire is just as important as the stones themselves. It creates a delicate 'echo' of light that catches the eye without overwhelming the jawline.
