The Bench Reality

The Lunette Crescent Studs reinvent the classic halo by introducing asymmetry and negative space. Rather than encasing the entire gemstone in a predictable border, a crisp, architectural crescent of diamonds hugs only the outer shoulder of each stone, drawing light across the cheekbone while letting the rich natural edge of the sapphire breathe.

Each earring is anchored by a hand-matched 7x5mm unheated Australian sapphire, available in Teal, Deep Forest Green, or Midnight Blue. Mirrored precisely for left and right ears, the sapphires sit slightly elevated above a stepped tier of 16 hand-set 1.2mm brilliant-cut diamonds (8 per ear). At 9.66mm in height and weighing a substantial 2.81 grams in solid 18k gold, this pair bridges the gap between daily signature studs and evening fine jewelry.

"Full halos can sometimes swallow the personality of an exceptional colored stone. With this lunette design, we stepped the diamond plate down and wrapped it around only one flank, which creates a sharp architectural contrast between the dark body of the sapphire and the fire of the diamonds. From a bench perspective, elevation is key. 7x5mm oval sits at 4.09mm total height, lifted just above the diamond crescent. This prevents the prongs from crowding the 1.2mm diamond beads and allows light to flood the sapphire’s pavilion from the open side. When setting the pair, getting the left and right mirror alignment exact is critical so both crescent wings sweep outward toward the earlobe contour in perfect symmetry."
